By a vote of 472
to 271, with 39 abstentions, the Petrograd Soviet sends greetings to the
Russian armies, some of which were
then engaged in the summer offensive. Though the vote may not seem very close
to us, Trotsky sees it as the sign of a shift favorable to the Bolsheviks and
their allies on the left.
